MT. JACKSON, Va. - eTravelWire -- Wolf Gap Vineyard received a $5,000 grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC)'s Microbusiness Marketing Leverage Program (MMLP) for its Winter Tasting Room Reservations.
Wolf Gap Vineyard has a goal to become a must visit destination in Shenandoah County. The vineyard has had a complete transformation since being purchased by new owners, Janel and JC in 2021. From new vines, new wines, and multiple renovation projects, there has been a huge transformation of this boutique winery. This grant will assist us in funding advertising initiatives of our winery to increase traffic to our tasting room, and encourage local tourism in our area, which in turn helps out our neighboring small businesses.
Virginia Tourism Corporation awarded more than more than $581,607 in matching grant funds to 108 marketing programs, ultimately impacting 432 combined partners, and supporting more than 1,050 full-time and part-time jobs across the commonwealth.
"The Microbusiness Marketing Leverage Program offered through VTC is an incredible opportunity for small businesses to expand their marketing budgets and reach new audiences. We are thrilled to see Wolf Gap Vineyards taking advantage of this program by continuing to expand upon their already creative marketing approach and the unique visitor experience," stated Jenna French, Director of Tourism and Economic Development, Shenandoah County.

"It is our goal to provide consistent employment to our staff and this grant helps us to do that throughout the much slower winter months of business. By advertising our cozy, indoor space to potential tourists from nearby states, we can drive tourism that not only benefits our staff, but also the many tourism dependent businesses throughout the Valley, " shared Janel Laravie, Co-Owner, Wolf Gap Vineyard.
