C&M Travel Recruitment's Activity Index – April 2025

• New travel candidates jump 16 per cent
• Small drop in new vacancies
• Placements also fall

New travel jobseekers edge up

The number of new travel jobseekers rose in April despite the Easter holiday distractions, according to the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment.

Last month's total increased by 16 per cent from March, and despite being down by one per cent from April 2024, was up by eight per cent from April 2023.

Slower month for new roles

It was a quieter month for new vacancies with an 11 per cent drop from March 2025 and an eight per cent fall from April 2024.

Similarly, the number of candidates being placed in new travel jobs dipped by 38 per cent in April to fall back to its lowest level of the year so far.

Speaking about the stats, Barbara Kolosinska, Co-Owner and Managing Director at C&M Travel Recruitment (http://www.candm.co.uk/), said: "There was no doubt that the Easter holidays impacted the travel recruitment market last month – and with many candidates and decision makers on holiday, it's no huge surprise.

"However, there were still a very positive number of new candidates beginning their travel search with last month seeing the second highest April tally since 2018. Despite the double bank holidays in May, hopefully we will see this increase in new applicants convert into some positive job placement momentum for the rest of spring and into summer."
