TRENTON, N.J. - eTravelWire -- The state's leading tourism organization, the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association, announces their Annual Advocacy Day event is back in person to recognize National Travel & Tourism Week. Taking place on Thursday, May 5 at the Historic Trenton Masonic Temple, 100 Barrack Street, from 9-11am, all facets of industry will gather to promote New Jersey Tourism policies and priorities over breakfast and an energized agenda. National Travel & Tourism Week has been held every first full week of May since 1983- it brings together tourism professionals to elevate the value travels holds for our economy, businesses and personal wellbeing. NJTIA's Advocacy Day continues that tradition with invited guests to include Governor Phil Murphy, Secretary of State Tahesha Way with insight on 2021 statewide Tourism numbers; Adam Sacks to discuss Recovery and Risks, sharing latest data on the economy, mindset of travelers and expectations for how and when NJ travel will fully recover; legislative updates from Matthew Halpin, Partner, Public Strategies Impact; and recognition of Cape May County Chamber President Vicki Clark's service to industry; along with announcements for 2022 including NJ Destination Marketing Organization news, Certified Tourism Industry Professional Program, Annual Conference, New Jersey Day and more.

On a daily basis the organization dedicates itself to the cause of building tourism within NJ.

Their efforts increase the attraction of NJ as a travel destination and as a result increases the amount of revenue the State collects through many revenue sources. Some of this statewide organization's goals include advocacy for enhanced marketing and promotion activities and funding in an effort to position the State as a desirable destination, increased marketing money for DMO effort, transportation funding to improve our system of roadways and travel options, revitalization of urban areas through promoting historical preservation, arts activities and cultural support, and creating livable communities to increase NJ's desirability as a location for business and industry as well as promoting environmentally sensible measures for sustainability.
