North of 50 Magazine
TORONTO - eTravelWire -- A new national digital magazine focused on the economic influence and travel power of women over 50 will launch March 20, 2026.

Published quarterly and available free online at Northof50Mag.ca, North of 50 Magazine examines the intersection of mature women, mobility, and Canada's tourism economy.

The publication is an initiative of Secord Strategies, a Canadian consultancy specializing in public policy, economic development, and tourism strategy. The concept was inspired by a cross-Canada journey undertaken by The Honourable Lisa MacLeod and Susan Truppe, which highlighted both the purchasing power of women over 50 and the tourism sector's opportunity to engage them more directly.

Women over 50 represent an estimated $1.3 trillion in economic influence in Canada. They manage household budgets, select brands, make travel bookings, and participate actively in civic life, making them one of the country's most influential yet under-recognized travel demographics.

The magazine was founded by The Honourable Lisa MacLeod, Susan Truppe, and Daniela Siggia-Beasant. MacLeod and Truppe are former parliamentarians and cabinet-level leaders who remain engaged in public policy and national initiatives.

Drawing on Secord Strategies' expertise in tourism policy and destination development, the publication combines research-informed analysis, destination storytelling, and commentary on issues affecting women over 50.

To support editorial alignment and industry credibility, the magazine is advised by an Advisory Council of Canadian leaders in tourism, hospitality, business, and wellness. Members include Sara Anghel, President & CEO, Greater Toronto Hotel Association; Shelley Crowley, Entrepreneur and Social Media Influencer; Allison Smith, President, Allison Smith Dispute Resolution Services Inc.; Janice Thomson, President & CEO, Niagara Falls Tourism (Medical Leave); Laurie Marcil, Executive Director, Nature and Outdoor Tourism Ontario; and Nancy Griffin, President & Founder, Women Worth and Wellness Inc.
