Leading Organization in the Hospitality Industry Discusses the Intersections Between Culture and Tourism; Reports on Newest Trends.
WASHINGTON - eTravelWire -- The National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals (NCBMP) is proud to announce the "11th Annual State of Black Tourism," a landmark event bringing together industry professionals for a dialogue on Black Culture and Tourism. The event will take place on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library in Washington, D.C. Registration and a Continental Breakfast opens at 8:30 a.m. and the Program will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The NCBMP has consistently advocated and promoted diversity and inclusivity within the tourism and hospitality industry for 40 years. As travel continues to grow in significance and convention planners are being more selective in choosing welcoming destinations, this year's State of Black Tourism event aims to address the intersectionality of Black Culture and Black Tourism.

"Our Founders were all association executives, who chose to leverage their $129 Billion economic power to advance and recognize Black meeting planners and suppliers' industry wide. Learning outcomes will include the impact of Black tourism on local economies, the preservation of cultural heritage, and strategies for promoting diversity and inclusion within organizations.
"We believe that Black Culture is a powerful driver of Tourism and can positively impact both individuals and communities," said NAACP CEO, Derrick Johnson.
