Research shows that structured data and semantic context on source websites influence how AI systems describe and position entities.
JOHNSTON, Iowa - eTravelWire -- New research demonstrates that the way AI systems frame and contextualize entities in their responses is influenced by structured data configuration and semantic context on source websites. Big House Enterprise analysis found that how information is organized and emphasized in structured data correlates with how AI systems prioritize and present entity information.
The finding shifts the AI visibility conversation from whether a business appears in AI responses to how it is described when it does. Two businesses in the same industry can be framed very differently — and the research suggests website structure plays a measurable role.
"Most businesses focus on getting mentioned by AI," said Chris Tutino, Chief Revenue Officer at Big House Enterprise. "They don't realize that how they're mentioned — the framing, the context, the positioning — is also being shaped by signals they can influence."

Big House Enterprise's analysis compared AI responses about businesses with different structured data configurations. Researchers found that how attributes were arranged and the semantic relationships in site architecture correlated with the emphasis AI systems applied in their responses.
The research suggests this is not random. AI systems extracting entity information from websites appear to give weight to how that information is organized. Emphasis, sequence, and relational context all appear to carry signal.
"This is the difference between an AI saying 'a local accounting firm' and 'a specialist tax advisory practice serving mid-market businesses,'" said Tutino. "Both could describe the same company. The framing is shaped in part by how the source material presents the entity."
The findings have implications for businesses in competitive categories. If AI systems draw framing cues from website structure, businesses with more deliberate structural approaches may receive more accurate and differentiated positioning.
Big House Enterprise plans to release further research on structural influence patterns in the coming weeks.
