ATLANTA, April 15, 2025 ~ As Earth Day approaches, the city of Atlanta is gearing up to celebrate and promote environmental responsibility. Georgia Natural Gas, the state's leading natural gas provider, is teaming up with Lenox Square, eWaste/ePlanet, and 11Alive to host an event aimed at encouraging residents and businesses to dispose of their unwanted electronics in an environmentally friendly manner.
On Saturday, April 26th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Lenox Square (located at 3393 Peachtree Road NE) will be the designated drop-off location for electronic waste. The event, now in its 15th year, has been exclusively held at Lenox Square for the past five years. Maurice Baker, manager of community relations at Georgia Natural Gas, expressed his excitement for this year's event and shared their goal of recycling at least 50,000 pounds of electronics.
"Please join us in celebrating Earth Day by helping make a positive impact on our planet," said Baker. "Each of us can make a difference, and by taking small steps in our daily lives like recycling, we can come together to contribute to a healthier environment for all."

eWaste/ePlanet founder Wilson Kieffer also emphasized the importance of responsible electronic disposal. "We are happy to take your unwanted electronics, regardless of the quantity or quality, and responsibly dispose of them using environmentally sustainable practices," said Kieffer. "You will have the peace of mind of knowing everything is taken care of responsibly, which is great for the planet we all live on."
In addition to promoting responsible electronic waste disposal, Georgia Natural Gas will also be showcasing their Greener Life program during the event. This carbon offset program allows customers to make their natural gas use carbon neutral for a small monthly fee. Attendees can learn more about the program and enter to win prizes such as a $500 Simon gift card that can be used at Lenox Square.
To ensure the safety of all participants, volunteers will be on site to retrieve items from vehicle trunks and avoid direct person-to-person contact. For more information about the event, please visit www.gng.com. Let's all do our part this Earth Day and make a positive impact on our planet by responsibly disposing of our unwanted electronics.
