FREEPORT, Bahamas - eTravelWire -- Bahamas Import Assistant (B.I.A.) has fully integrated its platform with the Bahamas Agricultural Health and Food Safety Authority (BAHFSA) Click2Clear ePermitting system. This integration allows travelers from the United States, Canada, UK and Spain to obtain a certified Bahamas pet import permit in a few hours, complete with same-day approval and a 100% approval guarantee.

How B.I.A. Handles the Full BAHFSA Click2Clear Process in Hours instead of Days

Since September 1, 2024, BAHFSA has consolidated oversight of all agricultural imports—including plants, beverages, horticulture, food products, and live animals such as pets—under the unified Click2Clear portal. The system replaces the former MyGateway platform and accelerates processing while enforcing stricter biosecurity standards. One ePermit now covers all dogs or all cats from the same household, eliminating per-pet fees.

B.I.A. handles every step of the process: document verification, error correction, and direct submission to Click2Clear on your behalf. This prevents common rejections due to expired rabies records, incorrect health certificate timing, or incomplete forms/issues that can lead to denied entry, mandatory quarantine, $500 fines,  or mandatory return flights. "B.I.A. removes the red tape so travelers can focus on their vacation," stated a B.I.A. spokesperson. "The service ensures seamless entry at Nassau, Freeport, and all other ports of entry, such as Carnival's Celebration Key (opened July 2025), and Royal Caribbean's upcoming Paradise Cay (2026 expansion of CocoCay)."

Travelers complete the application at https://bahamaspermits.com/petpermits/apply-here.html and receive a printable digital ePermit via email. B.I.A. also coordinates with cruise lines including Carnival and Royal Caribbean for excursion clearance.
